This week, Vancouver Island Vision features local painting and carving artist, Howard Lobb. Howard moved to Vancouver Island and became fascinated with the art of chainsaw carving. He found himself in a bind with not owning a chainsaw himself, so he went out and purchased one to begin his craft. He began using this chainsaw; However, once he found the professional carving saw, he knew he was hooked. Today, you can find Howard Lobb working on paintings as chainsaws and palm sanding has become hard on his hands. Lobb finds himself happiest when he can jump in his Jeep, crawl around in the back roads, and find beautiful scenery to paint.
